Post-Ramadhan Resolutions

Assalamualaikum,

At the turn of the year, people always come up with their own New Year's resolutions. Personally, I don't see any significance in this. The new year is nothing special to me. Nothing noteworthy which would make you want to change for the better.

On the other hand, I have yet to see anybody come up with their own Post-Ramadhan resolutions, despite the fact that Ramadhan is the month we are all encouraged to better ourselves, and continue improving even after Ramadhan has passed. So here is a general list of Post-Ramadhan resolutions you can make your own. Some might be applicable to myself, others not. It's just a general list.

  • To wake up for tahajjud as often as I can.
  • To visit the masjid/surau as regularly as I can.
  • To give sedekah as often as I can.
  • To be more aware of ALL the prayer times.
  • To continuously guard my modesty and aurat.
  • To try my best to lower my gaze from things I shouldn't see.
  • To listen to religious talks/tazkirah more frequently.
  • To recite the Quran on a daily basis.
  • To stop smoking. (not applicable to me)
  • To puasa sunat regularly throughout the year.

10 examples of Post-Ramadhan resolutions we should all have. It may be difficult to achieve all of them, but we should really at least try to.

Do you have any other resolutions?
