Breast Enlargement Products

Assalamualaikum,

First weekend back in Kuantan and already I saw something which gave me an idea for a blog entry.

Yes you read the title correctly, and no its not a metaphor. I really am going to write about it.

The other day I went to East Coast Mall (ECM) for dinner, and on the way up the travelator I saw this advertisement on the wall for breast enlargement products. The entire stretch of the wall was plastered with this advertisement! For breast enlargement products! Now I don't know about you, but to me, that's a little inappropriate, especially considering the "Islamic Nation" status Malaysia apparently has.

Then I realised, products of this nature (for both males and females) appear in newspapers as well, and even on TV. Female products more so than male products I think. Is the issue of cup size really becoming so "normal" that enlargement products can be seen in mass media that often? I mean, women complain when men objectify women, and see women as nothing more than objects of sexual pleasure, yet these products seem to encourage such behaviour.

I hope that the relevant authorities, whoever they are attend to this issue promptly. Wouldn't it be embarrassing to have Muslim tourists coming to Malaysia, and seeing this kind of open attitude towards these products?

I read an article, there are two new power of islamic countries. Indonesia and Turkey. Now I know why Malaysia isn't one of them, yet. :)
