Gadis Bertudung Comel?

Assalamualaikum,

Its nothing new when we see people giving advice to the young Muslim females of Malaysia to dress modestly and cover their aurah properly. I think its probably one of the most common topics when we talk about problems with the Muslim youth of today. But it can't really be helped, because everywhere you look, there will always be young Muslim girls who don't dress properly. And as I only just found out, there are those who take advantage of this situation for their own, erm, satisfaction I think I will say.

If you Google anything along the lines of "awek melayu cun" or "gadis bertudung comel", you will find quite a few blogs dedicated to displaying pictures of young Muslim women who either don't cover their aurah properly, or they do cover properly, but take "cute" photos of themselves and post them online. No joke. Do so using your own discretion. I'm not suggesting or recommending it to anyone.

From what I saw, some blog owners take candid photos of Muslim women on the street, later enlarging the lower body area to highlight tight pants or skirts. Some "steal" photos from Facebook, or Myspace or any social networking site. And they don't discriminate. Working women, teenagers in school uniform, any cute pictures they can get their hands on, they post in their blogs.

So to the Muslim women of Malaysia, don't take this lightly. Please dress appropriately. You never know if someone snapped a photo of you on the streets. If you upload photos on Facebook, make sure they're private. Or better yet just refrain from taking/posting "cute" photos online. Remember that once something is on the web, it stays there forever. Are you willing to shoulder all the responsibility if a photo of you gets posted in one of these blogs and thousands of eyes see it?
