Haters Gonna Hate

Assalamualaikum,

I watch a lot of TV. My friends know it, some of my readers might have even seen me mention it in this blog previously. I especially like the crime-fighting genre, and I've noticed something funny. Everytime when a body is discovered, and the detectives ask the family or friends did the victim have any enemies or did anyone have a problem with the victim, the response will almost always be "No...Everyone loved him/her". Then I will be like, if everyone loved him/her, why is he/she dead?? Obviously someone was angry enough or hated the victim enough to commit homicide. It's practically impossible to have EVERYONE like you. Believe me I know =p

Another example, Youtube. No matter how awesome a video is, be it a guy singing, playing guitar or piano, a cute baby or kittens, special FX videos, sporting excellence, there will ALWAYS be people who gave it a thumbs down vote. ALWAYS.

Thus, the internet meme Haters Gonna Hate was coined.

It's something we should remember too when it comes to decision making. At one point or another, we will say something, or do something and people will criticise us. No matter how carefully we choose our words, how thorough we were in exploring all the options, our final decision and words will always be met with negativity from some people.

We will never be able to please everyone. So don't worry when people disagree with you. Just because they do doesn't mean you're wrong. It just means they think differently from you. Be that as it may, criticism should always be met with an open mind, because there is always a possibility that we made a wrong decision.

But when people (trolls) start hating, mocking you, putting down your work, not giving any form of constructive criticism whatsoever, just talking trash, let the haters hate.
