Assalamualaikum,
Today most Malaysians will probably be talking about two things; the rise of the hackers in Malaysia, and the tremors felt after a 5.5-magnitude quake hit Sumatra. I'll leave the hacker story for now, and focus on the quake.
While I was in school, I think we were taught that Malaysia was "geographically protected" from earthquakes. Malaysia's position made it impossible for earthquakes to hit the country. Yet earlier today, tremors were felt in several areas, mainly in KL, Melaka and Perak. Tremors are not earthquakes I know, but still, for tremors to hit the country, I think that's a big deal.
Many people will say that the tremors might have been a warning from God. I won't disagree. Nothing happens without the say of The All-Mighty. So if something bad happens, He had willed it for a reason. I can think of two possible theories as to what the tremors were warning us against. Again I stress, just theories, just my opinions, nothing more.
- Climate change has been so severe over the years, that Malaysia is slowly becoming more and more at risk of becoming earthquake prone.
- Malaysia has become overrun by sex scandals, corruption, adultery, political nonsense and other negative happenings that God just gave us a little "nudge" as a warning.
Whatever you believe in, God, science, bad luck, karma, Malaysia is in a bad state. With the people getting more and more frustrated with the government because of price hikes, politicians fighting with each other, slandering one another, a club encouraging wives to act like prostitutes for their husbands, women being attacked by acid-splashers, hackers threatening government portals because of censorship, and to top it all off, tremors from a nearby earthquake.
May it be climate change or breakdown of society's moral values, the tremors could just be the nudge we needed as a warning. Either start going green or start fighting corruption, we need to start acting.
God's will has no boundaries. When God wants to send a message, He will send a message, regardless of what our school textbooks say.

indeed jaz. how i wish our "rulers" open their mind and be wise to see how much destruction that already happened in our beloved country.
personally i don't know how long would it takes till wisdom comes despite "messages" from God that comes one after another, but I certainly aware we are in trouble - both on our worldly matter and towards Him.
plus, I don't know how long it would take either after the wisdom comes for "repairing process" can be done to all damages done.
and the next question is "will we ever have that time?"
